History

When his first daughter Muhira was born in 2017, Saif Lutfi and his wife Mariam Elfadil have always talked about her in-house education. They started using Glenn Doman flash cards since she was 6 months old. Before she turned 3 years old, Muhira was able to recall internal human organs, famous scientist and artist, and memorized 54 African countries!

In 1945, (Sheikh Lutfi) launched the second national school in Sudan, and established a free public school for Sudanese citizens. After the Sudanese Revolution in December 2018, and following in the footsteps of his visionary grandfather, Mr. Saif Lutfi, the founder of Khartoum Montessori School (KMS), developed a vision to build young lives through meaningful education.

Saif was asked by his sister Hanadi Lutfi – the owner of Blue Nile Kindergarten – to become a partner, revamp and inject creative ideas as the kindergarten  was closing down due to COVID 19. Mr. Saif took over the management of Blue Nile Kindergarten and turned it into a profitable nursery from the first year as he introduced authentic Montessori methodologies & training, in addition to Glenn Doman for the first time in Sudan, while providing four taught languages, serving in-house fresh food, and increasing operating hours, and changing the name to Blue Nile Montessori.

2021 witnessed the inception of Khartoum Montessori School (KMS) as the first authentic Montessori school in Sudan, which strictly follows Montessori guidelines; from the prepared environment, to qualifying the guides with the International Montessori institute. Currently, KMS is the only school in Sudan that follows the Montessori methodologies and serves children from the ages of two to eight with the plan of adding an upper class each year.

KMS is the first Quadrilingual school and the only educational institute that integrates Montessori and Glenn Doman in Sudan in order to educate the whole child and helping families build strong character in their children.

With a background in corporate leadership training for the past 25 years, Mr. Saif Lufti’s vision for KMS is to directly impact the next generation of Sudan by helping them become true, educated, and executive leaders of Sudan and globally.
