We believe that physical activity is important for every student and we recognize that levels of interest, development, and ability vary from student to student. Khartoum Montessori School grants its young ones the opportunity to build self-confidence through sports.
One of the brain’s favorite foods is oxygen, swimming assists the delivery of that nutrient to the brain cells due to the activation of all the body muscles, and we at KMS have a child-friendly INDOOR swimming pool!
The swimming pool at KMS make us the #1 pre-school in Sudan that has its own indoor swimming pool. With a full time swimming coach, KMS students will enjoy swimming training 3 times a week all year round.
The purpose of training children gymnastics at such a young age begins with empowering their self-confidence as they attempt to perform a number of physically challenging moves and maneuvers, which signals happiness hormones release from the brain, dopamine and serotonin, which results in feelings of well-being and regulates mood, happiness, and anxiety respectively. Gymnastics also enhances and builds social bonding and relationships; performing maneuvers requires a group setting principally, which facilitates the utilization of social skills and its development. Thirdly, gymnastics strengthens the joints and muscles significantly.
Alongside increasing the body’s intake and delivery of oxygen via swimming, tennis comes in to perform a more extensive role in the children’s bodies. A child’s development is affected by certain milestones; gross and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, dynamic balance, and agility, and all these are refined and fortified when playing tennis! That is besides the cardio-vascular exercise, flexibility, and speed they acquire during this multifaceted workout.
The benefits of playing football are numerous. Some of which would be developing a strong sense of belonging and teamwork, developing ethics and sportsmanship, enhancing social bonding and skills, improving the ability to follow instructions, and certainly strengthening the body. Including football in our school will increase the diversity of the physical activities children are exposed to, which in turn broadens their perspective of what a rich school life is all about!
